DIAC Promotes its Services in China
DIAC delegation promotes arbitration and the UAE legal system to an important Asian market
Earlier this week, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), in cooperation with the UAE Consulate in Shanghai, organized an event to promote the benefits and services of DIAC to Chinese parties. A delegation including Dr. Habib Al Mulla (Chairman of the DIAC Board of Trustees) and Prof. Tarek Fouad Riad (Chairman of the DIAC Executive Committee) presented to an audience of business owners, practicing lawyers and arbitrators in Shanghai.
The presentation referred to DIAC’s strategic location in Dubai and vastly developed infrastructure as well as the logistical and financial services which make Dubai an ideal investment destination. Notably, Dr. Al Mulla reaffirmed the strong legal framework in Dubai which “protects the rights and duties of overseas companies as well as their FDIs”.
The event was attended by by H.E. Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Shanghai, and is an encouraging step forward for local arbitration in Dubai and the international profile of DIAC.
